I removed the racks and oven door. I used a socket to remove the screws that secured the element. I pulled the element out to gain access to the wire connectors and used pliers to remove the wires from their connectors to the burned out element. I installed the new element by using the pliers to secure the wire connectors to the element and then installed the element with the socket thus securing the element with the screws.

Really easy even i could do it , it was a little fiddly and the wires disappeared into the back of the oven , i easily removed the rear panel and pushed the wires back thru and connected them , turned the breaker back on and sparks !!
removed the rear panel again in 2 mins and saw that the wires were touching the oven frame and had shorted out , it wasnt a problem moved them slightly, reconnected them to the element tightened them up , put breaker on and Done , took about 45 mins but i could of been done in 30 with a little more care in the beginning of the job EASY !

As many people have encountered, my oven would not heat but the igniter would be bright orange and glow! Over time, the igniter wears and degrades causing oxidation to the surface. This cause the igniter to fail and operate at a lower current level, below 2.8 amps! Normal igniters operator over 3.0 to 3.1 amps. When is happens, a low current igniter does not have enough input to the control valve to tell the valve to open to allow gas to flow over the igniter to light the oven, thus heat the oven! This has got to be the NUMBER one reason for an oven not heating!

I turned the breaker off to the stove and moved it away from the wall. I then removed the center cover off the back of the stove and exposed the wires connected to the bake element. I removed the wires from the bake element and then opened the oven and removed the two bolts holding the element onto the back wall of the oven. I discarded the old element and replaced it with the new first bolting the new in , then connected the two wires and replaced the rear cover. Turned on the power and made a cake.

Took top of stove off, disconnected the heating element, re-installed the new element and now my stove works fine.

Pull range away from back wall. Remove panel behind control knobs by removing the screws that hold it on. Find hot burner light that holds lens. Remove broken part of lens. Insert new lens into hole on front of control panel and into hot burner light receptacle. Replace back panel. Slide range back into place.

So easy. Took extra time so the wife would think it was harder. Just read the other reviews for instructions. Didn't have an issue with the wires pulling back into the oven though I did have my "clips" ready.

We decided to go "on line" to see if there was any way to fix the stove ourselves and found the Part Select website. After entering the model number for the stove, we were able to find the heating element. We ordered it and received it two days later! We saved money and time. Thank you!

Unplugged oven, removed 2 screws from the rear of unit and disconnected power connectors for heating element. Replaced broken element wint new assembly, reconnected neutral/hot connectors and reattached rear cover. Very easy repair.

First I pulled stove out away from wall and unplugged the power cord then I removed the oven door to make repair much easier. I removed the two screws holding the heating element in place. I then went behind stove and unscrewed four screws to remove panel covering the electrical connections. Disconnected wires to heating element. Removed old element and reversed each step to connect new element.

My husband pulled out the stove, removed the center back panel, disconnected the old element, removed it, placed the new element in the oven, reconnected it, replaced the back panel onto the back of the stove and that was it. It took maybe 5 minutes and we saved about $10.00 purchasing the part from part select. We would definitely buy parts from PartSelect again.

Read posts on this site by others who did the same repair and found that to be a great help especially since the part came with out instructions.
From the posts I was expecting the wires to be short and had vice grips available to stop them from sliding back through the insulation. One still did though. I took off the back plate and pushed it back through. Piece of cake. The clips on the end of the wires were pretty loose and I used some needle nose to crimp them down. I also made sure to unplug the oven prior to starting.

Turn off power at breaker 2.Remove two screws and pull out wire just about 3 to 4 inches so I could remove each side of clips. 3 clip the new bake unit to wires and screw the new unit back in to existing holes.4 Turn on breaker and start oven. I did it in less than 15 min it took longer to find my tools.

The part I ordered was a perfect match for the broken unit.
First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires...) I removed the broken element put the new one in reattached the wires and then put the two screws back it. Oven works perfect.

Took two screws out, unplugged the wires.

Put the new heating element in. Plugged in the wires and put the screws back.

Took about 16 minutes !
