When the dryer door was opened the drum would not stop and the light inside was out.
First I diconnected the power to the dryer and removed the plug from the wall outlet. I then removed the two screws holding the lint vent on the top of the dryer. I used a putty knife to lift up the top. Then I opened the door and removed the two screws which held the door switch in place on the front of the dryer. After disconnecting the 3wire switch with two pliers (one for holding the switch and the other for holding the connector) I connected the new door switch. Finally, I put the screw back on the front, lowered the dryer top and reinserted the two screws for the lint vent. I plugged the dryer in, turned on the power and tested it for function.

The dryer light didn't work and the dryer wouldn't stop when I opened the door during a cycle.
I followed Steve's instructions from the video. 1. Unplug dryer. 2. Remove lint catcher. 3. Unscrew the two screws there and put screws to one side. 4. Release catches holding top of dryer and put top of dryer back against the wall. 5. Open dryer door and remove two screws holding the door switch that needed replacing, putting screws into the dryer. Remove switch. 6. Put in new dryer switch and put two screws back in to hold it. 7. Replace top of dryer, making sure catches are secure. 8. Put two screws back into lint filter area. 9. Replace lint filter. 10. Put plug back into the wall. Voila! The dryer light works and the dryer stops when I open the door during the cycle.

IMPORTANT If your dryer has the lint filter inside the drum...
then the video will not show you how to get the top off. It's very easy once you know where the clips and or screws are located. On my model, I used a putty knife on the bottom of the control panel edges. The panel will then rotate up. Then remove the 3 screws that hold on the top panel. Then slide the top panel out and up. Then you can follow the video to separate the electrical connector and 2 screws to remove the switch. Watch a video that show different techniques for different models.

Dryer stopped heating
(Always unplug dryer before making any repairs) I opened the dryer and checked the heating element. Making sure that the connection was good and nothing was damaged, I determined the problem was overheated wires. They melted and lots connection. I replaced them with the heating element wire connection kit. Easy to install and simple to get right. I cleaned the dryer again with a vaccum cleaner, removing all the lint, and checked the vents, making sure they were clear...I turned the breaker on (it was tripped when the dryer overheated)and everything worked great.

Dryer would not run
Once I had determined that the door switch was broken (the black actuating arm was broken) I ordered a replacement. The procedure to replace it is the reverse of removal of the broken part: unplug the appliance to begin. There are 2 screws that hold the filter frame to the top of the dryer; these are removed and set aside for reuse. The top of the dryer can now be pulled up to gain access to the door switch. Make sure you leave enough space behind the dryer to prop the top up without letting it go backwards. Disconnect the wiring harness plug for the door switch and the unscrew the switch. There are 2 screws accessed from the upper right corner of the open door. Replace the switch, guiding the 2 screws into the mounting holes of the part, remembering to not over torque the screws, connect the wiring harness, close the lid, replace the 2 filter housing screws, plug the dryer back in to the electrical outlet and you should be good to go.

Dryer suddenly stopped running as if no power.
After reading on line that the door switch fixed the described problem 48% of the time I decided to order a door switch first. Very easy to follow the video instructions that were on line. In less than 15 minutes my dryer was working again.

Disconnect Dryer. Remove Screws of lint trap (2). Slide Dryer Top (Cover) and push up to disengage the plastic clamps. Repeat steps backwards to tight new switch and place the dryer cover.
