66595788000 Kenmore Range - Instructions

Took appro 8 screws out of back panel, 2 screws holding switch, and pulled out switch, unhooked wires and reinstalled wires on new switch. Had to snap off stem with needle nose pliers which is simple and put everything back in place in reverse order!

Unpluged from electric. I took two bolts out of back of oven attached to boiler. Pulled out and exposed cords the attach to boiler. Slide them off and removed old boiler. Attached cords to new boiler and slide part back in to attach the two bolts back. Plugged oven back in and worked great

unscrew two screws..took old element out, put perfect fit new element in,screw two screws back in.

First turn off breakers for cooktop. Reached undereneath the cooktop and pushed it out and set on the counter. (1) unscrewed the frame holding the glass and removed it. (2) pulled glass off. (3) Unhooked the burned out element after identifying wire connections so I could connect the new element correctly. (4) Put the glass back on the frame. (5) Placed the frame over the glass and screwed it back to to frame. (6) Moved cooktop back into place. (7) Turned breakers back on and turned element on and it was operational. It was a very easy job.

I removed the broken heating element while waiting for the new part to arrive and cleaned the oven. SO much easier without anything in the way. Once the part arrived and it was wonderfully packaged...Easy to open but very well protected, it was a snap to connect the 2 power wires and then screw in the 2 screws to secure the heating element. I was back to baking in less than 10 minutes.

Take off the back panel of stove and unplugged timer motor and switch on door latch assembly,removed two screws that hold assembly and slide rod off. I put 110 volt plug to timer motor and it did not move, that is how I diagnosed problem. Ordered new assembly (cannot buy just timer motor)put new door latch assembly on and worked fine. Of course unplug stove before you start !

just replaced the broken glides with the new ones.

put it off a week before i worked on it but if you can replace a plug on a excord you can do this less than 5 mins

My first approach was to try to find some help on the internet - Y-Tube or whatever. When I could not find anything, I was on my own. My first thought was that the best and easiest access to the switch was to somehow remove the top section of the range which held the switch. I was trying to avoid having to pull the range from the wall and cabinets. But not finding any way to do that, I then pulled the range from the wall, and removed the back panel (8 screws), which gave me easy access. Once that was done, the replacement went smoothly and quickly. So if replacing any switches on this range, FIRST pull it from the wall and THEN remove the back panel, and the rest is a piece of cake!

Unplug oven, open oven door wide,pull out racks, clean reside that old element left. I used power drill with phillips head bit,pulled out old element, and disconnected wires from clips. Connected new element to wires, and Presto.Turned bake element to 300 deg.and waited only to see it red and ready to cook.

I was 100% happy with the whole process! The part arrived on schedule, it was exactly what I wanted! The best part of the story is I am a 77 year old lady whose husband was out of town and had never done this before. I could not have been happier with the process! Thanks again and I will use PartSelect again!!!

i personally did not do the repair..one of my neighbors did it and he said it was super easy..he pulled stove out from wall, unplugged it from socket, removed defective part, shortened clip that knob attaches to, installed new part with no problems whatsoever...plugged stove back in, pushed it back in place...burner now works fine! i was super impressed with the delivery of this part...ordered it on a Monday nite, it was mailed out the next day (Tuesday), and i received it Wednesday around noontime.. :)

Turn power off at breaker box, remove back cover inserted wires into element, done and ready to be use

By following the instructions, I exchanged the surface element. It was very easy. This was my first time fixing it too.
