shipped on time, fixed my broiler
Oh it's so nice to have a fast-preheating oven and broiler again! It's a bit tricky to open up the back but it all went back together well and I should be good for another 10 years! Thank you!

Easy repair
Received part quickly but damaged. Graphite heat element was broken. Looked like the contents could have used more bubble wrap. Ordered and received another without issue. Sent a picture of the damaged part and received refund. Thanks

How to replace broiler igniter
For model number HGS5042UC/01
Hello Jean-Pierre, Thank you for the question. Before starting this repair, you need to unplug your appliance, remove the oven door, and the racks inside. You then need to remove the screws that hold the burner and shield assembly to the roof of your oven. Remove the screws holding the igniter in place, and disconnect the wire lead. Position and secure the new igniter, and reconnect the wire lead. Then reinstall the burner, the racks and the door. Handle this replacement part with care, make sure you do not touch the element on the igniter as it is fragile.Hope this helps!

The igniter is located on top of the Flame diffuser at the back of the oven cavity, but the diffuser is connected to the burner below it by a fastener which is basically inaccessible, and the burner does not seem to be removable, such as sliding out of an orifice. Perhaps there is another way to access the igniter other than from inside the oven cavity? There must be some kind of printed guidance on this?
