top rack wouldnt line up due to broken adjuster
popped cover off broken adjuster and replaced it with new cover and supplied screws. Old holder also broke and that just popped into place. Dishes on top rack now are clean!

Upper rack, LH, detached from height level adjuster
Kitchenaid dishwasher upper rack adjuster mechanism failed on a/c retainers popping out.
Now, we've recently decided to replace the dishwasher in the coming year, so thought to avoid a $150 service call. Wanting a quick DIY solution, we found that the simple pop-in retainer buttons were $35 a pair. Even if we bought them cheaper online, the retainers alone might have failed to fix things: one of the [ "adjuster kit" ] rack lever enclosure pieces had become warped.
So we bought the upper rack adjuster kit - no lever - just the enclosure panels with metal screws--no plastic retainers. Total cost: $24 including shipping. Kit arrived fast. Its parts were well formed, so we got them installed in minutes. Needed only a screwdriver.
Great product, fair price, great service. Will use PartSelect again.

Need extra hands
The part itself is easy to understand but getting the old one off after 15+ years not easy when trying to avoid damaging other stuff. I wanted a package for both sides as the part was expensive by itself. Almost ordered the complete top unit which was cheaper but felt guilt that 1 would throw 3/4 away to save the money.

Old Part had worn out and was broken
The new part actualy was better than the original. Instead of needing the retainer the new adjuster came with screws which work and install much nicer than OEM.
