Product Description
Thermal Fuse Specifications
This is a replacement thermal fuse for your dishwasher. The thermal fuse is sometimes known as the thermal cutoff. The thermal fuse shuts off the dishwasher if the dishwasher shorts out or overheats. If your dishwasher is cutting out during the cycle, or will not start, you may have an issue with your thermal fuse. If your dishwasher control panel does not light up, the first thing you should check is the fuse. Before you begin to repair this part, be sure to disconnect the dishwasher from the power source, as you will be working around electricity.

Mom - the dishwasher repair woman!
I decided to learn from my boys and did a Google search on why my dishwasher wouldn't turn on. I found a YouTube video on how to replace the fuse and ordered these parts. Parts came very fast. The video was amazing and detailed!! I finished the job in a little over an hour (first time using wire cable strippers and got distracted). It was an easy job! I can proudly toot my horn that I did it! Impressed my husband and teenaged boys...

Thanks - solved the problem!
This part resolved the problem (machine had stopped mid-cycle, full of water, no lights). I note that on some repair boards folks have simply unclipped the dead fuse and installed the new one. I read that this is not a good idea, as the connections will heat up and blow the new fuse. I followed the instructions that came with the replacement and used all the wire and insulation provided in the kit. It has remained running, so far. Thanks for the prompt shipping by the way - part arrived next day!!

Easy Repair
Ordered the Thermal Fuse on a weekend and it was shipped first thing Monday. Had the part in a couple days. I only needed the fuse and did not need to use the wiring that came with it for my particular model. Twenty minutes and dishwasher was repaired.

Quick and easy repair
Since this is the second replacement of this part, it was made easier by the disconnect of wires to the fuse itself and replacing the fuse only. if the fuse fails again in the next year or so, I'll have to look at causes.

Faulty door handle shorted out the fuse.
First electrical power to the dish washer was turned off. The top portion of front door panel was then opened up to expose pocket handle and latch assembly. Old latch assembly was replaced with new latch assembly and a new fuse. The door panel was then re-closed and electrical power turned on.

How can i test the fuse? The dishwasher just stopped working, breaker is good.
For model number KUDS30IXBT1
Hello Nat, that is a great question. You will need a multimeter in order to test the thermal fuse. You have to adjust your meter to the Rx1 setting. Touch the edges of the fuse with the mulimeter probes, If it goes to 0 then the fuse is good. If the multimeter does not move at all you need to replace it. Hope this helps!

The dishwasher control panel does not light up or turn on. I have googled this and watched a person replacing a fuse. However the model he was working on looked different. Can you tell me why my dishwasher is not turning on. I have checked breaker at service and is good. Thank you.
For model number KUDC10FXSS2
Hi Steve,
Thank you for your inquiry. If your control panel is not lighting up then the first thing you should check is the fuse. You may also need to to check control panel and the electronic control board as well to see which one is causing the issue. The first I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Hi there my thermal fuse keeps blowing every couple of weeks. How do I find the problem because it is not always there. It seems to come and go randomly.
For model number KUDS30IXSS4
Hello Tristan, Thank you for the question. In most cases this is caused by a surge from a defective Door Switch in the Door Latch, PartSelect Number PS8770043. I suggest testing the switch with a multi meter. Hope this helps!

Why is all the hardware supplied when the fuse itself is all that needs to be replaced. It is wasteful costly and confusing.

For model number KUDC101XBL1
Hello Roger, Unfortunately we have no control over how the manufacturer decides to package a kit, if the fuse had its very part number we could sell it individually. The good news is that you can keep the extra parts as spares in case your original ones become damaged. Hope this helps!

For model number KUDC10FXSS1
Hello Patrick, Thank you for your inquiry. You can test the control panel and the electronic control board with a multimeter. If either one has no continuity, then replace it. Hope this helps!

Hi Bob, thank you for reaching out. Based on our understanding of the issue, we would suggest that you make sure the door closes properly. If the door closes properly but the problem persists, you may need to check the door switch, part number PS11751645, as it is most likely faulty and may need to be replaced. We hope this helps!
