Where is the pump filter supposed to sit in the drain mechanism? I just took apart the rubber drain tube before the pump looking for something slowing the draining way down and i see the pump filter thru the opening, i’ve done this same procedure a few times and have never seen that.

Hello Sarah, Thank you for your inquiry. The pump filter is supposed to sit down inside the bellow part of tub-to-pump rubber drain hose at approximately the second rib of the bellow. The video for the drain hose-part# 134455900 shows how to take the filter/coin trap out. Hope this helps!

Also the filter shown in the picture above is empty inside. The one I have seems to have something like a screen or something inside of it blocking the holes. Is that normal? Also I couldn't find the video you told Sarah about on how to remove the filter.
Hi Gino, that seems normal, this part is a replacement for the original so it may look slightly different. The video is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2iqN8Ly-WcE&feature=emb_title. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair!

A pillow filled with shredded foam rubber burst during washing. I cleaned out every bit of the stuff from the inside of the washer, but I'm worried that there's a filter in the guts of the machine that could be clogged with it. I won't run a load until I find out. Can you advise me? This is an old machine that still runs like a charm.

Hi Wendy, thank you for reaching out. Based on our research, the filter that may get clogged due to this is the pump filter, part number PS3655061. The pump filter is supposed to sit inside the bellow part of the tub-to-pump rubber drain hose at approximately the second rib of the bellow. You should be able to wipe the filter out with a cloth. We have attached a relevant video that might help you access the pump filter. We hope this helps!

I am replacing f35 (drain pump) but noticed the filter inside the drain hose. The filter just floats/sits inside at the bottom of the drain hose bellow. (part 134455900). Is that the correct orientation? To just sit inside the below unattached?
Hi Gino, that is correct, it is unattached. It should have a fairly snug fit. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair!
