Water contamination on the selector board. Dishwasher would not run
The wife damaged the latch assembly, so that had to be replaced. The control assembly comes with all of the PCBs, already connected together. This is very straight forward. Unplug the dishwasher.
Working from the inside of the door, remove all of the screws around the perimeter, noting where the "long" screws go for when you go to reassemble. The front panel (with the handle) will come off. Set it aside. Remove the two latch screws and the whole electronics assembly will come free. There are only five or so connections to swap on the largest of the three PCBs. Simply lay your new board next to the old, oriented in the same manner, then start pulling connectors off the old and onto the new until complete. Unscrew the control and indicator boards, and screw in the new ones. One note on the latch assembly. My new one was shipped in the "closed" position. If you replace yours, make sure the receive is open before you install or your will likely be taking it apart again. Reassemble the door. With the door open (ajar), plug the dishwasher back in and test the on/off and selector buttons. That's it.

Our dishwasher, model #gldt696d00ss will not power on/start. We brought in maintenance (office dishwasher) and they confirmed all power is working. Is this a common problem/buy a part or does this mean it is time to buy a new dishwasher.

Hi Diane ,
Thank you for the question. Sounds like you have a defective Control Board. You can see if maintenance has a multi meter to test the board. If the board tests okay then you can check the switches in the door latch assembly.
Hope this helps!

Have a GE dishwasher. You can't select the cycle. The cycle lights light up and run right to left and keep doing that once you turn it on. If you shut the door dishwasher will start on whatever cycle was lit up when door closes. It will then wash the dishes fine and complete the cycle unless you open it mid cycle and then it will switch to whatever cycle is lit up when you close the door so that screws it up. Even when it is off the on/off light stays lit up. I have run through all of the tests and mechanically the cycles all work fine, the problem is that you can't select one unless you trick it by shutting the door at the correct time to get the cycle you want. Not sure what part to get of if this is a common problem. Model: Gldt690tww 00 and serial: Lt 801 255 c

Hello Teasha, thank you for your question. From the sounds of the issue, the problem seems to be with the electronics in the unit. I would recommend replacing the CONTROL Assembly (PCB) W/SCRE WD21X10389. I hope this helps!
