Oven would not turn on
Checked the microwave door latch and it seemed to be okay. Removed the control board cover and the start button seemed to be worn so I ordered the new cover. delivery was fast (1 day) but it arrived without the control board/number overlay. I was told that those were sold separately. this is a little irritating because there is no way to transfer those from the old cover to the new as they are firmly glued to the cover and cannot be removed. I feel the cover should be sold with those 2 items included. I ordered the extra items and they arrived quickly as well, but I had to again pay for the shipping. (this could be avoided if they would just state up front that these are needed). I assembled the cover and re-installed. Pushed the start button and it did not start. I opened and closed the door 4 more times and then discovered the latch mechanism had actually broken. I removed the inner door cover (used 4 screwdrivers and worked it off the door carefully so as not to break the cover) and found that the flimsy extra-cheap support that holds the spring tension had broke off. I found a suitable area below the support that broke to drill a tiny hole and install the spring tensioner. Re-assembled the door, closed it and low and behold everything worked again. Lesson learned.
