The burner would not turn off and I or my wife would have to turn the breaker off.
I simply turned the power off and slide the stove forward to give myself room to get behind it and just unscrewed the cover behind the burner switchers and pulled the switch knob off then I removed the two small screws that hold the burner switch to the control panel and go to the back and pull the wires carefully and replace them on the new switch one by one and screw the new switch to the control panel and replace the back panel and done!

Top glass top burner wasn’t working
I first ordered the wrong part and had to call customer service. They handled the return and ordered the new piece beautifully!! The installation was really simple. Once I took out two screws holding the top down, I removed three clips holding the burner on then switched out the electrical leads. Put everything back and it worked perfectly!!

Would a faulty burner switch cause the burner to overheat or not respond to the heat setting occasionally?
Hello David, thank you for contacting us. Yes, this would be the cause of a faulty switch. Good luck with the repair!

Would a faulty burner switch ( wb24t10027) on the 8 inch burner keep the red indicator lamp on the console always on? I have replaced the burned out 8 inch burner coil with a new GE coil but the red indicator light is always lit.
For model number ABS300J1WW
Hi Paul,
Thank you for your question. If the red indicator light is still on, then the issue is with one of the burner switches and you will need to test each one with a multimeter to see which one is causing the issue. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

I have a GE stove (first model number) that needs a burner control (part # wb24t10027). I happen to have a Kenmore (2nd model number) that i removed all the burner controls from and have them in a box. It appears the part number is wb3148952 for the burner control on that stove. Are these controls interchangeable? Thanks in advance for your time! Jesse
For model number rb526dp1ww and 665.95142300
Hello Jesse, Thank you for the question. The wb3148952 switch originated as a Whirlpool part and is not interchangeable to the GE appliance. Hope this helps!

Some times when we turn the switch to off the burner stay on
Hi Mike, thank you for your question. There are a couple of parts that could cause this issue specifically. You will need a multi meter to be able to test the parts. The first part you will want to check is your radiant element. It should be reading between 0 - 120 ohms to be working correctly. The other part to check would be your infinite (or surface burner) switch. When you remove that part from the appliance, connect each probe from your multi meter to the prongs and then turn the switch to an on position. If you get no continuity then the switch is the issue. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Will replacing the 8" surface burner switch stop the ceiling light from blinking when using either 8" surface burner ?
For model number rb790wk3ww
Hello Clyde, Thank you for the question. I suggest checking the wiring for damage and make sure everything is plugged in securely. The switch does not control the light so it should not effect it but there might be an issue with the wiring. Hope this helps, good luck with this repair!

The red indicator remains on. All burns are plugged in correctly. The burns woe but when off the light remains red. What part would we replace to have this work correctly
For model number RN525S1AD
Hello Annette, thank you for your question. The issue is probably the indicator light itself. If the switch is turning off the burner, and there is no longer heat coming from the top, the light (part number PS237433) has probably failed and will need to be replaced. Good luck with your repair!
