Easy repair
My GE oven would always locked up (oven would stop and would have to wait and let it cool down) everytime the oven was heated over 350F. I decided to buy this sensor even though testing of the resistance in ohms on my old sensor revealed no apparent problem. Well the old sensor must have been faulty because with this replacement sensor Im now able to heat my oven to 450F and maintain that temperature without falsely setting off the overheating security mechanism that would shutdown my oven and lock up the door while it cooled down.

Oven was not coming up to temperature
I had to remove the oven from the wall because the sensor plug connction is behind the unit. Two screws hold the sensor inside the oven and then I disconnected the lead and pulled the sensor out from the front. I installed the new sensor, tightened the two screws holding it in and connected the lead. Then reinstalled the oven into the wall. Overall, a very easy repair once you get the oven out.

Actual temperature did not match set temp
Removed the oven door for easy acces to oven. Unscrewed (philips screwdriver) the screw holding temp sensor in place. Gently pulled the wiring until quick connector was located. Pushed down on locking level on quick connect while holding other end of wiring (so wiring would not fall back behind oven). Connected the new sensor and screwed back in place. Reinstalled oven door. Tested temperature settings by turning on oven and comparing with a separate oven thermometer.

Seal worn on corner allowing heat to escape, sensor not reading the correct temperature
Spring clips installed on seal just pull off door. New clips get inserted in mounting holes and are pushed in to seat in door. Seal ends slide into door holes.
Replaced old sensor with new one by removing nut screw and carefully pulling sensor cable out of oven back until plastic terminal connection is exposed. Sensor connection has a locking tab that must be pushed in to release sensor connector. Do not allow oven wire to pull back into back of oven until new sensor is connected. Reinstall nut screw and tight to hold new sensor in place. Verify proper oven operation.

F2 error code
After reviewing the potential causes for the error code, I decided I'd try to change out the temp sensor. Using the ohmeter, I saw the difference immediately between the old and new sensor. The sensor is accessed from the back of the stove, and must be slide out to gain access to the rear panel. Since the stove I have is a built in, removing the stove and the access panel was the hardest part of this repair. Resetting the glass control panel was also a bit tricky to calibrate the touch sensitive buttons. Good luck.

Oven tempeture off by 50 degrees
Sensor is in rear and on top ov oven. What could be a 10" job took 45". My problem was the oven door was diffinately in the way. Also I wear bifocals which makes me tilt head to see nuts. I felt like a contortionist. HINT: remove door and give yourself some room to work.

The 'o' on the model number may be because this is an appliance bought with the house. Model number for your purposes is probably jt912bf5bb. Food has been burning lately. I set the oven temp to 400. After is beeps it continues to heat for another 30 minutes or so up to 100 -150 degrees more. (using a store bought metal thermometer it beeps at 300 and then will continue to heat up to 450). Realize the store bought not that accurate but is does show oven not heating correctly. One person told me it could be the thermistor but don't find that in your parts list. Or the panel. Any suggestions
For model number JT912BOF5BB
Hi Stephen,
Thank you for your inquiry. If your oven is getting too hot you will need to replace the oven temperature sensor. The function of the oven sensor is to detect the temperature within the oven cavity. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

My oven is not heating properly. I checked power, elements and thermostat and all check out good . When i turn oven on bake the temperature doesn't increase pass 100 degrees on the display pad but the element is hot to the touch, just not red hot. When i turn the broiler on it doesn't get red hot either like it's supposed to. Although my thermostat is checking okay when i test it , all the symptoms from your web page indicate it's the thermostat . Could it still be this or is there something else i'm overlooking? Please help ! Holidays, holidays, holidays!!! thank you very much.
For model number JT965SK4SS
Hi Edgar,
Thank you for your question. If your temperature sensor is testing good and both of your elements are also testing good as well, then it is most likely your electronic oven control board that is the issue. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Hi when i set preheat to say 350 degrees the preheat beeper will go off in about 5 8 minutes and state its at 350 but the oven thermometer i have in the center of the oven states it's 275, if i wait another 5 or so minutes the thermometer in the oven will reach 350 and hang steady at that temp, this holds True for any temp i select. Any ideas?Much appreciated.
For model number JTP30SM1SS
Hello Jerry, Thank you for the question. I suggest testing the Oven Sensor. Testing the temperature sensor probe on your oven is easy. With the sensor at room temperature, measure the resistance between the two prongs at the end of the sensor connector. The resistance of the sensor should read approximately 1080 – 1090 ohms at room temperature. Hope this helps!

Hi, after a small power flickering interruption my oven will not heat up on bake or convection bake. It will work on broil hi/lo and roast convection. All the top elements in the stove top work fine. We also did a self cleaning and that worked fine. When i put it on bake it stays at 100 and i hear clicking on / off from the front control panel.
For model number JS968SKSS
Hello Jack,
Thank you for your question. The problem is with the electronic control, it is shorting the control functions for the baking element and locking them up. You can try to reset the control board by pressing the Clear/Off button twice, if that does not work, you can reset the entire oven but unplugging it for 10 minutes and plugging it back in. If that still does not work, you would need to replace the control board under part PS1018000 for your model. Hope this helps!

For model number P2S975SEP3SS
Hi Kathryn,
Thank you for your inquiry. You may be able to solve the LOC issue by pushing the 6 and 8 numbers on the control pad at the same time on your touchpad to reset the oven. I hope this helps with the repair. Thank you and have a great day!

Ran a self-clean cycle and after it cooled, the oven door keeps locking. The unit makes a clicking noise when the oven is turned on and the unit will heat for 30-60 sec and then turn off. I have been able to unlock it by turning a self-clean cycle back on and then turning it right back off. Burners are operational.
For model number JS750SF1SS
Hi William,
Thank you for the question. Sounds like it could be the oven sensor. The sensor detects the temperature within the oven cavity. If it is defective it will lock the door thinking the oven is hot or in self clean.
Hope this helps!

Help..... my oven heats up sometimes but is very slow then when you finally get heat the temperature is 50 degrees less in the oven what the nob reads ... it’s always a toss up if i can use my oven.... help me ... my grandsons are expecting cookies as they carry in wood for our fireplace and that’s their payoff
For model number JGBS04PPW1AD
Hi Maryjane,
Thank you for your question. I would suggest testing your temperature sensor and your bake element with a muilt meter to see if either of those parts are not working correctly. If both of those parts are fine, it may be your electronic control board that is the issue. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Convection oven does not heat up. Per your recommendation, replaced the oven sensor part #wb23t10015. The convection oven stops at 118 degrees now. Since installing the oven sensor the bake cycle now heats up as required however the convection only goes to 118.Frustrated!!!!! could the problem be with the control panel/circuit board? hope not!!!
For model number ZET938SF4SS
Hello Chuck, thank you for inquiring. You may need to replace either the Convection Element part PS956151 or the Electronic Range Control part PS1018825. We hope this helps.
