Oven door hinge has a swivel lock position. Looking down on hinge from top which way should it be? I removed the door and it was in lock position. When i put the door back in place it want go far enough down to close door. GE gas. Your help would be appreciated..
For model number JGB620REF1SS Serial# SA235620P
Hi Bill,
Thank you for your inquiry. When the latch is out (Front to Back in direction) that means that it is in the lock position. When that latch is in (Right to Left) that means that it is in the open position. Try pressing the cancel button and holding it for 30 seconds to see if that disengages the lock. Your problem right now is that your lock is in the lock position and if you try to shut your door, the latch is going to stop it from closing all the way. If pressing the cancel button does not work, try unplugging the appliance for 5 minutes and then reconnecting it. Sometimes that will reset the latch and it will go back into the unlocked position. If that does not work you may have to replace your door latch. You should test it with a multi-meter to determine whether or not it is malfunctioning. Good luck.

I need to replace the oven door hinge on the left side (facing front of oven) . I can remove the door but am not sure how to get to the hinge spring since i have a lower warming drawer. Do i need to get at it by removing the side panel? If so, are there instructions on how to do that?
For model number P2B918SEM3S
Hi Gerry, thank you for your question. To remove this part you have to remove the warming drawer entirely by pulling it out and away. There is a small panel on the inner cavity of where your warming drawer goes. You would have to unscrew that panel to access the door spring. Make sure to mark the hole that the spring is attached to. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
