Poor machining where the screws fit
The screws didn't screw in well but I made it work. It seems they weren't machined to accept a screw.

Oven door was not closing all the way
First I released the lock on the oven door hinge so that I could take the door off by lifting it up and out. Then it was just a matter of removing screws, replacing the hinges, and putting it back together. I did have to guess a little as I started removing screws as I wasn't sure exactly what to remove, but it became pretty self evident as I looked it over. Not as bad as I had expected.

My wife dropped a cast iron dish on the door while it was open, bent the hinges, so it would not close properly.
It was really easy, just lift the door off from the range, I set it down on the box that the hinges came in, took the six screws out to release the front fascia of the door from the back, hinges are right there, un-screw and install the new hinges, put everything back together in reverse and lift the door back on to the range, less than 10 minutes!

Got the door off can not get it back on
For model number AER5715QAW
Hi Robert,
Thank you for your question. You should be able to slide your door back on to the hinges. We did have a customer who wrote in with some instructions that may help you: " I had a lot of trouble unlocking the door hindge you must pull the door out to change the hinge they are on the hinge and slide foward then pull the door up and out lay the door flat on a table cover the table with a towel so you don't scrach either one. Unscrew 6 screws on the door cover. 3 on top 3 on bottom take the cover off the hinges are exposed there 3 screws on the hinge 1 on the front and 2 on the bottom replace hinges install face insert door and lock the hinge it's all done. " I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

The springs on this oven door produce loud "stretching" noise when the door is opened or closed, especially when hot. Do i need to replace them is there some way to quiet them ? I found the hinge/spring assembly # 74010546. Is the spring availablr alone or must i replace the entire assembly ? Thanks, eti

Hi E T,
Thank you for your question. If your door hinges are making a loud noise when you open the door, especially when it is hot, you will need to replace them. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Hello - We replaced the hinges on the door from your company maybe 2 years ago. When I opened the door the other day, the right-side hinge came loose and was disengaged from the oven. We were unable to reconnect the oven door. I think we need to replace the hinges with the PS2087906 hinges (MFG #7401546), but do we need to replace the door hinge receptacle kit as well? Thank you.
For model number AER5735QAW
Hello Deanne, thank you for the question. The manufacturer recommends replacing both the hinges and the receptacles. We recommend replacing the hinge receptacle, part number PS11744396, to fix your issue. We hope this information is useful!
