My dryer is giving me a e68 code, think it means push button is not working right. So will replacing the push button fix it or do I need a whole new panel?
For model number AGQ7000EG0
Hi Mike, Thank you for the question. To determine what key is stuck follow these steps. First turn the knob to the Normal position, then Press and hold the Select and Pause/Cancel buttons simultaneously for 6 seconds(display will come on and here a beep). Immediately after, press and hold the Start and Pause/Cancel button simultaneously for 4 seconds. The control will enter test mode and the buzzer will sound 3 times and the lights will blink. Next rotate the knob 4 clicks to the right. This will put you in key test mode. Press each button, one at a time and it should light up a row of lights. If you press a button and the row of lights do not light up, this is your stuck button. Next you will need to remove the front control panel.Make sure you unplug the dryer from its power source.Once the panel is removed you will need to remove the control board from the back of the panel. With the board removed using a small flat head screw driver push in the small button the key test shows to be the stuck button. Sometimes doing this will free it up. If the button makes a "click" noise then it is not stuck and is not the issue. In this case the Dryer Control Board with Housing(electronic board) will need to be replaced. Hope this helps!
