Self Cleaning Safety Latch broken
This was a difficult repair because half of the screw on the stove top had to be drilled in order to get access to the device that operates the locking mechanism for the door latch for the self cleaning oven function. Once all the screws where removed it was an easy repair.

Could the door latch cause the oven to not turn on? I set the temp and hit start and the oven signals right away that its at temp. We have replaced the circuit board and the igniter and the oven still does not heat up.
For model number jgb920sef2ss
Hi Marie, it could be the oven sensor or heating element. Especially with you saying that it detects it at temp right away makes us suspect it is a faulty sensor. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair!
