Make sure you order the right part
I had to order this three times. The 1st time the part arrived damaged, the second time it was the wrong part. Third time was a charm. The team at PartSelect was AMAZING. Honestly, great customer service and they made it easy. Once I had the right part, it was a 15 - 20 min job and the element is working great. My original element wasn't working in the middle, now it's good as new. Keep in mind, this isn't exactly the same as the original part (it will look different when heating the element) but it works beautifully.

the largest element was onlly heating the outer half of the ring.
very easy to do all in all. I would add that there is a need to loosen the electrical clips by spreading the undersides of the clips open slightly before disengaging from male counterpart. Also the main electrical connectors at the back of the glass top will only go back together one way so no need to worry about getting them upside down. If you have small hands and arms it is advantageous there was very little working space at the rear when the top is slid forward. Never let anyone tell you that these elements are hard to change. They are either ignorant of the truth, or trying to sell you a new stove.

We purchased the replacement part for the stove (w10823720) but it does not fit right. When we installed the replacement burner one of the plugs were to large for the connection wire on our stove. We used one of the adapters that came with the replacement and ground it down ( the high heat connector on the end) to fit which was suggested by an electrician. It only needed to be ground down about 1/16 of a inch to fit. The burner heats up now fine but will not go to a lower setting even though you are turning the burner knob down. It only heats to full blast and will not go lower. All sizes of the burner work but none will go to a lower heat setting even though you are turning it down with the burner knob on the stove. We took pictures of the old burner before we removed it so we were assured of reconnecting it correctly so that is not the issue. When we ordered the burner at the appliance store she said there were not any additional parts we needed just the actual burner. No new sensor was needed because it was all attached. So what is wrong?

Hi Bonnie, Thank you for the question. I would first contact the company you placed the order with to ensure the correct part was purchased for your model number. if the correct part purchased you could have an issue with the switch that controls the burner. The switch controls the temperature the element is set to. The switch can be tested with an Ohms meter. Hope this helps!

I have an element at the front right that does not work properly. The outside ring work but inside does not. The closest one i could find is number 23 which is a dual element but smaller then what i need. The one i have would measure roughly 12" at 2700w/1700w. My guess would be possibly number 24 however i could not find any specs as to watts or size.

Hi Wayne, thank you for your question. There are a couple of parts that could cause this issue specifically. You will need a multi meter to be able to test the parts. The first part you will want to check is your radiant element. It should be reading between 0 - 120 ohms to be working correctly. The other part to check would be your infinite (or surface burner) switch. When you remove that part from the appliance, connect each probe from your multi meter to the prongs and then turn the switch to an on position. If you get no continuity then the switch is the issue. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

What are the 2 extra black pieces that look like a sparkler that I received with the element used for?
For model number w10823720 element
Hello Sandra, Thank you for your inquiry. Those are the high temperature connectors for changing out the terminals. We hope this helps.
