Dryer would not start
I unplugged the dryer and moved it out from the wall to access the rear top control panel. I removed the five screws and removed the panel. I pulled the starter switch button off. Holding the switch from the back with a twist and removed it. With new switch in hand I transferred the three connectors to new switch then with a twist remounted to the control panel. Pushed the button onto the new switch and replaced the control panel cover. Back against the wall, plug it in. It started!

Whirlpool gas dryer will not start. It has good electric power. Light is on. Thinking start switch or fuse. Any other suggestions. How long to get the part/s once ordered. Thank you.

I turned the large "setting knob" on the left side of the dryer top counterclockwise and now the dryer will not turn on. I must have broken the switch somehow.
What part do I need and how easy is it to repair?
For model number NED4700YQ0
Hi Gil, thank you for reaching out. Based on the description that you have provided, we would recommend checking the timer, part number PS11754717, as it is most likely faulty and may need to be replaced. To repair this issue, you may need to first remove the timer knob. After that, remove the rear panel by unthreading the screws that attach it to the control panel. After removing the rear panel, you can access the timer easily to replace it. We hope this helps!
