The part was made wrong and did not fit.
The plastic tabs were too large to fit into the washer's slotted hole in the washer cage. I initially bought this part from a PartSelect competitor and it was made wrong as well. Whirlpool themselves showed this part on back order so the faulty part originated in a Whirlpool order to a vendor. The reason for this reply is that PartSelect resolved this bad part issue within 2 hours and 1 phone call. The competitor has not resolved anything yet in 3 weeks and 5 emails with image proof.

New baffle would not fit in slots in washer drum. Measuring there is a slight difference in slot openings as compared to new baffles, so was unable to get them inserted. PartSelext very helpful and I'm am to get a credit. Factory to let me know if need to send new baffles back.
New baffles would not fit. PartSelect very helpful to get refund.
New baffles should just slide in but did not. Measuring slots and
connection points on new baffles appear to be a difference preventing
connection.

How to install this part ? I have already damaged one trying to install based on you tube video
For model number MHWE500VW11
Hello Jim, Thank you for your inquiry. Remove the top of the washer by taking out the three screws that secure the top to the back using a torx screwdriver. Remove the hose that goes to the soap box into the tub to allow you to see the outside of the inner drum. Rotate the inner drum so you have the baffle at the top center so you can see where it attaches to the tub and if there are any screws attaching it. If there are, remove them and use the rubber mallet and a block of wood to gentley remove the baffle. Set the block of wood at the front of the baffle and tap it so that it goes towards the back of the tub and remove it. There are 6 tabs that fit into the slots on the drum that lock it into place. The raised portion of the baffle will be towards the back of the tub, so line it into place and pull it sharply forward to lock the tabs. I have included a link for a similar baffle video to assist you. Hope this helps!
