Is this a diy project? This is our second downdraft cooktop to have a dual element go out...it is the primary 8.5 inch element on the front...so it must be repaired. please confirm this is the correct element and where can i find replacement instructions. thank you!
For model number KECD867XBL02
Hi Candy,
Thank you for your question. This is the correct dual element on the front of your appliance cooktop. Here is a video of how that installation is done. This video is not exactly for your type of appliance but it will show you how to install the element: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jV0qxuDFCUs&t=1s . You will likely have to remove your cooktop from the counter to do this repair. Good luck with your repair.

I ordered the infinite switch for the dual element burner. How do I remove the old switch?
For model number KECD867XBL00
Hello David, Thank you for the question. You will need to unplugged the cooktop from the outlet or turn off at breaker. Use a mat or a cardboard the same size of the cooktop to set the cooktop on as you will need to lift up and out to remove the cooktop from the counter. This would be done by pushing up from the bottom of the cooktop, careful not to place too much pressure on the glass. With the cooktop removed, the knobs and retainer nuts can be removed and the vent grill. Next the screws inside of the top of the vent, as well as along the top perimeter of the cooktop just under the glass, will need to be removed. This will allow for the switches to be accessed for replacement. Hope this helps!

I just purchased the burner and replaced it still not working any idea why
For model number KECD867XBL00
Hello Willie, thank you for your question. If the burner was replaced, and its not turning on the issue is with the burner switch itself. I hope this helps!
