The outer glass on our oven shattered into a million pieces for no obvious reason. The glass is still in the stainless frame (i.E. Not all over the floor or in the oven). From looking at your parts it appears that part #5 is the appropriate part. Is that right? It also appears it no longer is available in stainless. True? in the instructions on your website it says to loosen screws on either side of the frame and take it off. there are no screws on our model. there appears to be a tab in each side. can you advise on how to remove? if we try to do this ourselves do you have any advice to avoid getting glass everywhere...tape the outside? any thoughts on what might have made the glass shatter? (oven was on 450 for 12 minutes). when we have answers, we'll order the part. thanks
For model number KERC607HBS4
Hi Carol, thank you for your question. Yes, it would have been part 5 and unfortunately yes the part is no longer available in stainless steel. You do have screws that hold the door together. They are located on the bottom of the door along the trim. Unfortunately we are not your manufacturer here, so we would not have any knowledge on why the glass may have broken. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
