Is it easy for a non professional to replace the switch membrane on a KitchenAid range?
Hi Terry,
Thank you for the question. Yes most of our customers are DIY customers and have found this repair fairly easy to do. You will need to remove screws from under front panel. Then remove the screws from the side end caps to remove the main front panel. Under the trim there are two screws that hold the front panel in place. Unplug the switch membrane and remove the 4 screws that hold it in place. Install the new membrane switch and plug it in. Then reverse the steps.
Hope this helps!

Hello Gerry and thanks for writing.
It sounds like your unit needs a reset:
Using the Power button, turn the range off and back on again.
If the error returns, turn the circuit breaker off, wait 30 seconds, and then turn it back on. Good Luck with your repair.

On the touch pad all of the buttons work except the start and options buttons. I restarted the convention stove a few times, still not working. It seems to be the touch pad. I cannot think of anything else. It is about 6 years old
