How many straps are needed and is it difficult to replace them?
For model number Kenmore 11023712200
Hello Gene, thank you for your question. Two straps are required. To replace them you will need a 1/4 inch nut driver and a Philips screwdriver. Before beginning your repair, unplug your washer. Unscrew the screws in the back of the console. Move the console forward and take out the console straps by pushing in the tabs on the side then push it through the slot. Push the new one through the slot, put the console back in place and replace the screws. We hope this helps.

When the tub gets filled with water, regardless of size of load selection, the tub tilts to the back of the machine and is in this position the entire time of the wash cycle is this normal ? Shouldn't the tub when filled with water be sitting level as possible during operation ? I think which ever part is responsible for keeping the tub in a level position once filled with water has worn out. Most likely from me washing blankets and over loading the washer.. could you tell me if i should be replacing any of the straps or springs needed to keep the tub in a level positions during operation or is this the way the machine is supposed to operate. the machine just started to make a metal to metal screech sound for a split second during the spin cycle. i was thinking it is due to the unbalanceness of the tub maybe? any help would be appreciated. waiting your reply

Hello Edith, Thank you for your question. The suspension spring supports the outer tub and keeps the tub steady during loads that could cause an unbalance. If this part breaks, is worn down, or has stretched out and lost its spring, it could cause the load to be off-balance which can lead to excessive shaking, moving, noise, and leaks. That part number is PS11743345. I would check the springs to see if they are broken or worn. I hope this helps!

Sorry after a closer observation the tub is sitting in this tilted back position the entire time. The washer belonged to my mother in law and i inherited it in 2003. I noticed the tub not sitting level when i got it. I remember stuffing bundles of socks between the tub and the top of the frame to push the front of the tub down so it would sit level but as soon as the spin cycle starts to happen the vibration would jar the socks loose and the tub returned to this tilted back position. Should the tub be held in a level poison and if so what part is needed to do so.It has been is a super great machine and i would like to keep it that way.

Hello Edith, Thank you for your question. I believe the tub should be level with the opening of the unit. I would check the Suspension Springs, Tub Springs, and Tub Wear Pads first. There might be some wear on the pads, or there might be a stretched or broken spring that isn't allowing the tub to remain level. I hope this helps!
