Damage to the plastic tub.
The clips that hold the tub halves together were difficult to reinstall. I realized once I got it apart that the damage was probably a secondary condition. The primary problem was that the drum was off center due to a failing bearing. It is only sold with the rear tub assembly. $475.Live and learn. My new LG washer is pretty slick though.

Every time the washer is spinning it is made a loud sound. After the load finished, i saw shredded gray matter that looked like it had thread running through it. I tool out the clothes and looked behind the rubber flap around the inside dryer and it looks like a gasket is missing that should fit there somewhere. If i buy the gasket and it is not the right part, can i return it?
For model number GHW9400PL0
Hello Marnie, thank you for your question. It sounds like the rubber gasket on the front of the washer has been torn. This part is a seal that keeps the water from leaking out of the door. This gasket is called a Bellow and the part number is WP8182119. If you order the part and its not the right part you can return it. It cannot be installed or used in any way. I hope this helps!
