I am experiencing frost buildup in ice dispenser chute. I've replaced the ice door assembly and solenoid but still have frost buildup. Could replacing your ps11743207 solve my problem. If so do i have to remove the inner door panel to install it.? thanks
For model number MSD2758GEB
Hi Rick,
Thank you for your inquiry. You can try replacing the housing, but Usually, if you are experiencing ice buildup around the ice chute, it is caused when crushed ice is dispensed repeatedly. This will eventually evaporate or you can clean the frost from the dispenser chute by using a warm cloth or sponge. If the frost is forming all the time, remove the ice bucket and try operating the dispenser with the door open to see if the flap is closing all the way. If it is not closing all the way you may need to have a service technician come out to see what is going on. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

The flap in the ice dispenser is hanging loose. When i tried to repair it i found that the place where the spring clips into on the right side has broken off. I can’t determine by the diagram which part secures the spring. Is it the housing or a different part? Thank you!

Hello Jeff, thank you for your question. If the part that is broken is one of the round tabs with a hole in it where the spring goes into on the housing of the dispenser area you will not be able to repair the unit without ordering a new door assembly. The dispenser housing is not a replacement part that is available from Whirlpool so we are unable to access that part. I hope this helps.
