The back rear burner on my glass cooktop seems to be starting to have ignition trouble. It doesn't light unless I press down on the knob a couple of times before I turn it on. If I don't do that and just turn it, there's no spark/click. Gas still comes out and the burner can be lit with a match. If it eventually stops working even when I coax it, do you think I would need a new igniter switch? Do you think that's the problem? Would I be able to take the cooktop out, take off the bottom to access and change the switch...if that's the problem? Thank you for your time!

Hi Claudia,
Thank you for the question. Yes I suggest replacing the Ignite Switch first. This is a switch that creates the spark that lights the gas and starts the burners. When the gas burner valve knob is depressed and turned, this part creates a spark that lights the gas and starts the burner. If this part did not fix the issue then the Top Burner Spark Ignition Electrode for that burner may need to replaced. This part helps your burner ignite and produce flame.
Hope this helps!

The rear left burner on my gas cooktop continues to click after the burner is lit. The ignitor must be working because the burner lights. I tried to clean it but noticed that the little metal wire coming out of the ignitor is loose and i can actually pull it all the way out of the plastic housing. When i put it back it, the burner still lights, but even after cleaning that metal wire with fine sandpaper the ignitor clicks after the burner is lit.

The right front burner will not ignite with the spark. The other three burners do ignite with the spark. The burner in question will ignite with a match. Also, sometimes when i try to ignite the other burners the spark on all the burners keeps firing after the Flame starts. I am not sure which part needs to be replaced: The igniter switch or the spark module. What do you think?
