Product Description
Motor Pulley Specifications
This is the replacement motor pulley for your dryer. The motor pulley transfers momentum from the drive motor to the drum via the drive belt. If the motor pulley cracks or is no longer staying on the drive shaft, you will need to replace it. You will need to access the dryer motor for this repair, by removing the front panel. The motor pulley is approximately 1 inch in diameter and is sold individually. This is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer.

Worked perfectly
The original mounting was slightly different being only flanged on one side while this replacement part is flanged on both sides, which seems much better anyway. But other than that, a perfect fit and an easy repair.

Easy repair , worked like it should.

Dryer would'nt start / drum wouldn't turn
Unplugged Dryer; used screwdriver to push in and release two clips that hold top to front, tilted top back and removed two screws holding front to sides. Disconnected door switch and removed front .
Reached in above motor to remove belt from around pulley and tensioner wheel, Pulled drum and belt out of machine.
Removed approximately 10 screws around perimeter of blower housing and removed cover to access blower wheel. Removed outer lock ring from shaft and clamp from blower wheel hub, and removed blower wheel.
Took out tensioner assembly.
Disconnected wiring connector from motor.
Removed three screws that held blower housing to bottom and removed retainer around rubber motor mount at pulley end of motor. Lifted out motor, blower housing and vent pipe as one unit.
Removed 2nd outer lock ring from motor shaft.
Rotated motor frame 45 degrees to free the rubber mount from the blower housing.
Screwed new pulley onto new motor shaft and cleaned blower housing and vent pipe.
Assembly is reverse of disassembly.
Inspected and lightly greased the glides and inspected the idler wheels before reinstalling drum.
Dryer works perfectly.
Five to ten minutes also spent unscrewing and replacing timer knob and hinge pins on lid of matching washer Crosley cw22b5v.
Very simple repair.

broken pulley and belt
Before anything else, I would like to thank your company for a quick response and fast delivery of the parts that I ordered. Ordering parts from your company saved me a lot of money. The repair took me about 15 min. First I removed the two screws that hold the front cover and then I pulled out the drum and replaced the broken pulley, then I put back the drum and the belt in place and then I put the cover and screwed back in and now I'm back washing and drying pile of clothes.

Drive pulley wore out
Item # PS11740721 motor drive pulley. This has a 3/8-24 reverse thread inner bore. Fit my Maytag model MDE508DAYW dryer made by Whirlpool, with drive motor on the lower right below the counterclockwise rotating drum and exhaust blower at the front of the machine. It might work with a number of brands of dryers made by Whirlpool with that configuration. Check the motor shaft thread and the drive belt which is a 5 rib belt 5/16ths inch or 8 mm wide. For Joe Blow the local appliance repair places only quote replacing the motor and pulley as a unit. At $170.

Does this part have left handed threads. Mine does, but i know that a lot of models have right handed threads. (depending on where motor is mounted). I don't want to order this part and i get the one with right handed threads.
For model number PYGT344AWW
Hi Robert,
Thank you for your inquiry. The pulley has left handed threads. To remove the motor pulley you would turn to the left. You would turn left to loosen and right to tighten. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

My drive shaft pulley has broken into pieces and i cannot remove the dome shaped piece, is there a trick to getting it off?
For model number HYE3658AYW
Hi Nicole, Thank you for your question. You should not be removing anything from the motor other than the little pulley as pictured underneath this part information. Everything else cannot be removed from the motor. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Is the motor pulley one piece? The current one is two pieces with the pulley and then a left threaded nut that screws on over the threaded motor shaft to keep the belt on the pulley. This appears to have become stripped over time and i just need the nut.
For model number MCE8000AYW
Hi Richard,
Thank you for your inquiry. Yes the motor pulley is one piece that goes on the motor and looks like a nut. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

How do I install the spring when I replace the belt with the guide roll?
For model number CYG2000AWW
Hi Ronny, Thank you for the question. One end of the spring hooks onto the bar and the other end on the motor plate in the unit. Hope this helps!

Can you show me exactly about the idler spring where to hook it on the motor unit plate e. G. In a picture?
For model number CYG2000AWW
Hi Ronny,
Thank you for your question. At the base of the dryer there will be a slot and a round opening. Hook the round end of the spring on the idler arm. Install the hooked end of the spring into the slot and move it along the slot until the hooked end of the spring aligns and can be pulled up and through the round opening near the end of the slot. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

I am not sure if the dryer is not tumbling. This motor wheel is really squeaky and noisy. I took the dryer apart already thinking it was the rear support wheels. But its the motor wheel. Can i just oil it
For model number PYG2300AWW
Hello Elaine, thank you for writing. Yes, you can grease it with Synthetic Grease. We hope this helps
