This air diffuser makes buzzing/grinding noise like it’s trying to open and it can’t for unknown reason. At the same time as this occurs, the refrigerator shuts down and then it beeps twice at the bottom of it by where the air from condenser fan comes out. I took the cover off the diffuser and it keeps trying to open but doesn’t, just tries twice to open, doesn’t and then beeps twice. Then i reset the electronic display/temperature control board by pressing the holiday button and on/off button at the same time for 10 seconds and after the board resets, the diffuser damper opens, the condenser fan comes on and the compressor kicks on a couple of minutes later. The refrigerator runs fine until about 18 hours later and it does the same thing again. Which part is the culprit? Is it the defuser damper motor assembly, the electronic display interface board or is it the Master control board behind the refrigerator? I don’t think it’s the inverter control for the compressor...could it have something to do with the defrost cycle? i spoke with the authorized repair service and they said they can’t troubleshoot shoot it unless it is doing it when they show up, plus it would cost me money for the lost food and they said that spending likely $500 $600 for a 14 year old unit may not be a good step. they did say that the 3 items i am asking about may be more reasonable if i can do it myself, which i could. what do you think is the first part i should replace? thanks in advance!

Hello Edward, thank you for inquiring. For this symptom you will want to replace either the Condenser Fan Motor Kit part PS1957416, the Inverter Board part PS8760019, or the Bi-Metal Defrost Thermostat part PS11750673. We hope this helps.

My fridge isn't always cooling properly. Which has been setting off the alarm did indicate that it's getting too warm. When i check on it it seems as though the air diffuser is making a buzzing type of noise as if it's trying to open and close. If the air diffuser doesn't open properly would it prevent the fridge from cooling? Sometimes it seems to work just fine and then other times not. What does air diffuser be the issue or would something else be the initial cause?

Hello Melissa, thank you for inquiring. It would more likely be either a faulty Bi-Metal Defrost Thermostat, part number PS11750673, or Condenser Fan Motor, part number PS1957416 that is preventing the refrigerator from cooling. Good luck with your repair!

My fridge the air diffuser does not always open and close. What part controls the air diffuser?
For model number KSCS25INSS00
Hi Tamie,
Thank you for your inquiry. Air diffusers are mostly thermistor controlled diffusers activated by a motor drive and a control board. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
