The rubber ring inside my client's washer door is molding all around. We tried cleaning it but black flakes are still coming out in the washing machine. Can this part be replaced? If so, can you tell me how to order the part with the installation instructions please? Thanks!
For model number EIFLS20QSW00
Hi Richard, thank you for contacting us. The door boot seal, part number PS11699873, is compatible with your model. If you are looking to purchase this part, you can do so by either adding it to your cart and going through the checkout process online or by calling our customer service line and ordering with one of our agents.
You can install the door boot seal by using the following instructions:
1. Remove the top panel
2. Loosen and remove the retaining screws.
3. Remove the dispenser assembly; to do so, pull it out until it stops, then press the button, which will allow you to release it from the machine.
4. Remove the two screws that hold the top portion of the front control panel in place.
5. Remove the ring that holds the front edge of the door boot seal in place by opening the front door.
6. Fold back the front edge of the seal to separate it from the body of the washing machine, then close the front door.
7. Place a block of wood beneath the machine to gain access to the retaining screws on the bottom side of the front panel.
8. With the bottom screws removed, tilt back the washing machine and remove the block.
9. Remove the four screws that hold the top edge of the front panel in position. With the top screws removed, lift up slightly on the front panel.
10. Use a pair of side cutters to cut and remove the cable tie that holds this white vent tube in place.
11. Pry off the spray with a flat-blade screwdriver after removing the spring clamp that holds the rear of the boot.
12. Pull off the old door boot seal and install a new one.
We hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
