This is a Maytag stove with the model number given. The part that you use to set and control the oven and it displays temp does not work. If i order one is it fairly easy to install? Can it be something else causing that panel not to work?
For model number MES5552BAB
Hi Derek,
Thank you for your question. You could check your wiring to see if perhaps something was damaged or burned. Replacing the part is fairly easy. I would suggest taking a picture of your board while your wiring is all attached. You can hold up your new board to the old board and unplug a wire then plug it back in to the new board in the same spot. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

The lower element was obvious a problem. Working on oven for my son. Photo sent to me of blown element was a serious failure almost completely burned through element. Stove works but no one mentioned oven control panel wasn't operating at all. Replaced element knowing that wouldn't fix everything. Dug deeper and found significant burn marks on what i think is the oven control board, a two level stacked board behind oven control panel. Am i on the right track replacing that board set? Its obviously bad as well but are odds in favor the control board and element took each other out or is it possible something else killed them both? Much more expense and i would consider just replacing the oven.

Hello Thomas, thank you for your question. Yes, it definitely sounds like the electronic control boards should be replaced. If there is burn marks on it and neither element works, the oven electronic board is the most likely issue. I hope this helps!

Lower element in oven doesn't come on when bake option is selected. Upper element comes on when bake or broil option is selected. Oven temp rise is very slow also.

My oven will only come to 250 degrees when set at 350. If set at 400. It won't stop heating goes to 450 and beyond.I don't know the no. Of the circuit board
I need.
For model number Mer8775as
Hello Stephan, Thank you for reaching out. Before replacing the Control Board (Part #: PS11756982 for White and Part #: PS11756559 for Black), we suggest testing the Oven Sensor. Testing the temperature sensor probe on your oven is easy. With the sensor at room temperature, measure the resistance between the two prongs at the end of the sensor connector. The resistance of the sensor should read approximately 1080 – 1090 ohms at room temperature. We hope this helps!
