wr01l04393 what is the purpose of the shunt sensor? How does it work? i do not have one in the grill cover in our freezer and have yearly problems of freezing in ff dept. Starting when the fridge was new in 2015-also tech installed new thermistor and did not place back in to the shunt--this fridge has never worked properly.

Hello Colin,
Thank you for your inquiry. This part covers and forms a seal along the back of the temperature sensor. If this seal is not there, it can cause the sensor to read the incorrect temperature. We hope this helps.
