Ice maker is not shutting off when full
For model number GI6FARXXB06
Hello James, thank you for reaching out. The ice maker shut-off arm, part number PS11753954, has the sole purpose of discontinuing ice flow once the bin is full. If it is defective, it will not stop ice production and the ice may spill out into your freezer. If you require assistance to place an order, please contact customer service. We hope that helps!
Says door is open to the FRIDGE. Door is indeed closed. Lights don’t come on when opened. Set for 8 hours, came home and they worked, then stopped again. Checked freezer and it seemed like it was closed. But there was like shaved ice all over everything. Made sure it was closing properly, but still says FRIDGE door is open. Unplugged for longer than 10 mins and plugged back up. Light back on and beeping again.

Hi Phranalia,
Thank you for your question. If the display shows that the door is open, check the door gaskets to make sure they are sealing correctly. If they are not, the will need to be replaced. If the gaskets are sealing correctly, the issue may be with dispenser control board or the main electronic control boards.
If you have shaved ice over everything, it sounds like it could be an issue with the dispenser control board, but check the ice bucket assembly as well. If you have any questions, please let us know. We look forward to hearing from you!
ice maker stopped working is there any troubleshooting
For model number GI6FARXXB06
Hello Mj, thank you for the question. If the ice maker is not working, we would recommend checking the water filter to make sure it is not clogged. If the issue still persists, we would recommend checking the water inlet valve, part number PS11755669. We hope this solves your problem!
Pressed in the end of the filter cover, lowered it down part way. Twisted the old filter 1/4 turn and removed it. Set in the sink to drain. Inserted new filter and twisted it to lock. closed cover. Done. Total time @ 1 Minute.
I knew the chances of all the freon leaking out was unlikely so I looked at the wiring to the compressor and there was a capacitor and a starter/overload so i figured I would start there. I went on line and found the parts at this site and they were less than the minimum service call charge for a service tech so I figured what the heck let's give her a shot so I did give it a shot. I ordered the parts and they were there in less time than a service tech could come out and i installed the parts and guess what for 90.00 in parts and 15 minutes in time I repaired my refrigerator. Thanks guys, It took less time to order the parts than it did to make the repair so thanks, your website rocks and is very well designed so my hat is off to you guys!
I removed the drop-down outer housing by gently prying the sides of the two pivot pins at the rear. This gave me move 'room' to grip and slightly rotate then pull the old filter forward and away from the tight suction connection. I was concerned that I would be too forceful for the plastic assemblies and would break something; deliberate motions and a steady thought process on the problem helped disengage the darned old filter!
