Hi Maria,
Thank you for your question. If you have frost in your freezer, this is largely a result of moisture coming into contact with the coils and freezing. Frost on the evaporator coils will prevent air from flowing over the coils. No air flow will cause the refrigerant in the coils to remain in a liquid state and keep it from vaporizing. The refrigerant will travel past the coils and will eventually end up in the compressor and cause damage to it. If there is frost on the evaporator coils, this may also be caused by the following:
1. A bad defrost heater or the other components of the defrost system.
(The defrost system consists of the defrost heater, the defrost timer and the thermostat/defrost control.)
2. An evaporator fan motor not working correctly or not at all.
3. No load on the evaporator coil.
4. Dirty evaporator coils.
5. Defrost intervals that are set too far apart. To prevent the frost from forming, make sure the door is closed to prevent moisture from entering. Do not store hot items in the freezer and make sure that you are storing the food in the proper containers. Also organize the food so there is good air circulation throughout the freezer. Make sure the coils on your refrigerator are clean. Make sure the defrost settings for your refrigerator are set correctly as outlined in your owner's manual and maintain a constant temperature. We hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day.

The control pad on the front of the refrig is blank. The refrig and freezer are still working. Can not use the water or ice because we cant see anything on the screen. Is there a simple fix for this?

Hello Michael, thank you for reaching out. Based on the description you have provided, we would recommend checking the control board, part number PS12348677, to fix the issue. We hope this helps!
Hello Don, thank you for contacting us. We would recommend checking the ice tray for blockage. If the issue still persists, then you may need to replace the ice maker assembly, part number PS11769140, to solve the problem. Glad to be of assistance!
Pressed in the end of the filter cover, lowered it down part way. Twisted the old filter 1/4 turn and removed it. Set in the sink to drain. Inserted new filter and twisted it to lock. closed cover. Done. Total time @ 1 Minute.
Removed the fruit & veggie drawers & the deli (pantry) drawer. Took out the 3 screws, removed the attached parts, put them on the replacement part, reattached it and put the drawers back in.
Here's the part I want to share: PartSelect had a expanded diagram showing the correct part and sufficiently detailed to figure out the repair before the part arrived. That's why I ordered from them. Secondly, I ordered the part Thursday morning--and the thing was sitting on my porch when I came back in from my evening out Saturday--2 days later!!!
Remove food off of lower shelf, remove the two produce drawers, remove large lower drawer, remove glass shelf, remove three screws holding end cap in place. Once end cap was removed the drawer track could be removed and placed on new end cap. Installation of new end cap took less than 5 minutes. Most of the time spent was removing/replacing food and cleaning the shelf/bins. PartSelect was awesome BTW!
